A flexible benefit with firm rules – tailor Earned Wage Access to your company

At first glance, the Earned Wage Access benefit may seem like too loose a system – after all, employees can withdraw part of their wages at any time. In reality, however, it has clear rules. Each company decides for whom, how much, and when pay will be available. Earned Wage Access is therefore not “without boundaries” – you set the degree of flexibility yourself.

Everything you can configure

💰 Maximum withdrawal limit

Each company can choose how large a portion of wages can be withdrawn in advance.

  • It can be a specific amount (e.g. CZK 12,000) or a percentage of wages (e.g. 40%).
  • You can also differentiate the limit by employee group – for example, one limit for regular employees and another for workers on DPP/DPČ agreements, or by seniority or position.

🔄 Number of withdrawals per month

Most companies do not limit the number of withdrawals – employees use the benefit sensibly. If you wish, however, you can set a limited number of withdrawals.

🧾 Who pays for withdrawals

Each company can configure how the withdrawal fees are split:

  • The employer pays for all withdrawals.
  • The employee pays for all withdrawals.
  • A combination – e.g. the company pays for the first withdrawal each month, the employee pays for any further ones.

⏰ When to make the benefit available

Earned Wage Access can be activated for workers immediately upon joining, or only once their probationary period has ended.

⚙️ Who the benefit is available to

The benefit can be made available to all employees or only to selected groups – for example, by contract type or position. You can configure whether it will be available to:

  • employees subject to wage garnishment (a maximum of half of the non-seizable minimum)
  • employees in their notice period,
  • employees in their probationary period.

For employees in insolvency, the benefit cannot be made available.

How the available amount accrues

The amount available to an employee can accrue in several ways:

  • Based on attendance – the Advanto system automatically loads hours worked from the time-and-attendance system.
  • Linearly – the same portion of wages accrues every day until the limit is reached.
  • A custom model – if you have specific needs (e.g. shift operations, multi-component pay), we can adapt.

Employees typically have access to part of their earnings the day after their first shift worked in the month. If needed, however, we can enable withdrawals only from a certain day of the month (e.g. the 5th day, by which time part of the wages has already been earned).

The most common configuration in companies

This configuration most often gives companies the optimal balance between flexibility for employees and defined guardrails.

Advanto's rules

To keep everything fair and safe, a few basic limits apply: a minimum and maximum withdrawal amount, a recommended maximum of 50% of the monthly wage, and the exclusion of employees in insolvency.

We monitor whether an employee is in insolvency using data from the employer as well as the public insolvency register.

Advanto can also offer the benefit to self-employed contractors (OSVČ); however, this is not Earned Wage Access in the legal sense, but rather the option to withdraw part of their earnings.

Summary

Earned Wage Access is a flexible benefit, but it does not mean no limits. On the contrary – each company sets its own boundaries to match its company culture and budget. The configuration can be conservative or very open.

From experience, we can say that companies that start with a more conservative configuration gradually loosen it as they get to know the benefit better and observe how employees behave. The Advanto system is designed to be safe, transparent, and fully customisable.
